The main objective of this two day workshop is assist foreign managers identify the key elements of culture, particularly their own learned cultural assumptions and values and their influence on how they work and relate with others. Participants will be able to know the significant events in shaping Malaysian history, politics, government, society and discuss how these might influence their period of residence in the country. They will also become aware of the various phases of culture shock and in managing transition to a new culture and how it will impact on the whole family/individual(s). In addition, they will develop an understanding of values, work ethic and business styles at the workplace and how they surface in leadership, communication, teamwork, conflict management, problem solving, decision making, and influencing practices.
